Smart Compose is an Amazing New Feature of Gmail and Here’s How You Can Try it Now!

Yesterday, at Google I/O developer conference Google announced a new amazing feature for Gmail users. The new feature is called Smart Compose. it is pretty effective for users who send a lot of emails daily.

As it can be guessed from the name, the new feature is a much smarter way of typing emails. While you type an email this new feature automatically shows you suggestions. If you like the suggestion just press ‘tab’ on your keyboard and the suggestion is now applied to your email.

The best part of this Smart Compose feature is, unlike smartphone keyboards, it suggests the complete sentence instead of just words and believe me or not this helps to increase your typing speed by a lot. Moreover, it also reduces the chance of grammatical errors while typing. Below is a gif showing how the feature looks like!

Although, the new feature is in the experimental phase right now you can still get your hands on it. To try the new Smart Compose feature right now, then follow the steps below.

How to Turn on Smart Compose?

  • Open your Gmail account
  • In the top right corner, click on Settings. If you haven’t started using the new Gmail yet, click Try the new Gmail and then click on settings.
  • Now under the General tab scroll down to Experimental Access.
  • Click on the checkbox to Enable experimental access.
  • At the bottom of the page, click Save changes.
  • That’s it you can now try the new Smart Compose feature.
