A new smartphone from HMD Global labeled as Nokia 7 Plus was spotted on Geekbench earlier today. The device is expected to debut along with Nokia 9 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The Nokia 7 Plus comes with new internal hardware and could also feature an 18:9 FHD+ display as well.
Nokia 7 Plus: Specifications
From the benchmarking site’s listing, it is pretty clear that the device will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. And this is clearly a boost in comparison to the Snapdragon 630 which came with the original Nokia 7. The SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. However, just like the Nokia 7, there can also be a 6 GB RAM variant.
The image also clearly shows that at the time of benchmarking the device was running Android 8.0 so after the launch the device should come with Android 8.0 itself. Moreover, as HMD Global promises to provide regular Android updates, the device should also receive latest security patches through OTA updates.
The Nokia 7 Plus scored 1636 in single core test and 5902 in the multicore test which is fair enough for a mid-range device. It is also expected to retain the same design of Nokia 7. However, as mentioned earlier it may include a new 18:9 FHD+ display.
Upcoming Devices: Nokia 9, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 4 and the Nokia 1
A few weeks ago, a teardown of the Nokia Camera Beta app revealed the names of upcoming Nokia smartphones. The smartphones are Nokia 1, Nokia 4, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 9. The Nokia 4 is expected to come with the Snapdragon 450 chipset. It is also interesting that HMD has already confirmed their presence at the MWC (Mobile World Congress). The company is expected to launch the Nokia 9, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 1 at the event. HMD may also launch the Nokia 6 (2018) globally along with these devices.
So what do you think about the upcoming Nokia devices? Let us know in the comments.
