Honor, the subsidiary brand of Huawei, has launched a lot of smartphones in recent time in India. In a range of few months they have come up with Honor 9i, Honor 7X, Honor View 10 and most recently with the Honor 9 Lite. The phones are of the different budget categories. However, there is one thing common in each and every one of these phones. Yes, the 18:9 aspect ratio display. In a recent leak, it has come out that Honor will be only producing 18:9 aspect ratio displays.
There’s also another thing very common in these smartphones, the use of dual or quad camera systems. The 18:9 aspect ratio helps to get more display to body ratio and minimal bezel at the edges. This also becomes a much-improved user experience over the older 16:9 ratio displays. The recent Honor 9 Lite is also having the same type of display and is one of the fan favorites.
Roland Quandt, who is known as a tipster has recently leaked this information that from now onwards Honor will not be producing any smartphones without 18:9 displays. From his sources at Honor Germany, he quoted on Twitter, “There will be no new Honor phones that do not have a FullView display.”
Honor GER says “there will be no new Honor phones that do not have a FullView display” (18:9 ratio) from this point on.

In another tweet, he has also revealed that Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 users will be soon starting to receive Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI 8.0. The rollout of the firmware will start from this month. However, the Honor 7X users will have to wait until Q2 this year to get the EMUI 8. Ronald has also mentioned, Honor 8 users will receive the EMUI 8 feature update but will not get Android Oreo.
Honor GER says EMUI8 (incl. Oreo) coming to Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 from February. Coming to Honor 7X in Q2. EMUI8 feature update coming to Honor 8 soon, but no upgrade to Android 8.0 “Oreo” yet – “will have ‘a surprise’ in this regard in the near future” though.
