Samsung’s new flagship smartphone Galaxy S9 has finally launched in Mobile World Congress 2018. After many rumors, We now have the confirm details of Galaxy S9. The Samsung Galaxy has an improved DeX dock. It lets you plug your phone into a display or a TV and turn it into an Android-powered desktop experience. It’s a good way to show presentations for instance. And because the dock is flat now, you can use the phone as a trackpad.

The Galaxy S9 is IP68 water resistant and comes with a new translation feature. Where you can point the camera at the text to translate it into a familiar language. This feature is powered by Google Translate.

Samsung really is focusing on the business side with the Galaxy S9. The company wants you to think about the Galaxy S9 when it’s time to buy a bunch of new phones for your employees. The smartphone comes with an enterprise edition with maintenance, extended, extended guaranty and security updates for up to four years. You can also update the firmware of your employees over the air.

Camera Reimagined 

Samsung Galaxy S9 is all about the camera. It has a single 12-megapixel rear camera. The new camera is Samsung’s first with a mechanically adjustable aperture (not counting the China-only flip-phone launched late last year), which can switch between a very bright f/1.5 to a smaller f/2.4 depending on exposure conditions.

The bright aperture lets in 28 percent more light than the S8’s f/1.7 lens and the f/2.4 aperture is said to help prevent overexposure in bright scenes, such as a sunny outdoor day. The camera will be able to switch between apertures when necessary. Also, you will be able to manually control them using the PRO mode in the app.

The camera includes second-generation dual-pixel autofocus tech for faster and more reliable focusing, improved multi-frame noise reduction for a claimed 30 percent better low-light performance, and the ability to record slow-motion video at up to 960 frames per second (at 720p resolution). All the modes in the camera will be available on the top of the camera app in a tabbed manner and you can swipe between them.

Make your own AR Emoji

Samsung has integrated a tech AR Emoji Technology to there camera app. It lets you capture an image of your face, and using over 100 points. It builds a 3D character which will look like you. The app then creates 18 animated GIF “stickers” that are accessible on the keyboard for use in messaging apps. Yes, you can customize the Emoji as per you. You can change the look of your character with different hairstyles, glasses, and outfits, as well.


Samsung Galaxy S9 has the Snapdragon 845 chip which is possibly the best smartphone processor in the world will be in new Galaxy S9. Samsung has released the device with its own Exynos processor too. It can support speeds up to 1.2Gbps and supports 600MHz frequencies for T-Mobile. The Galaxy S9 has launched with 4GB/6GB RAM variants and with 64GB and 128GB onboard storage. A 3000 mAh battery will power the new smartphone.

It has speakers on both ends of the phone, it includes DOLBY ATMOS speaker which now produce stereo sound and are 40 percent louder, according to Samsung, but you’ll sure be able to hear them. Also, it will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Samsung moved the fingerprint scanner from the right of the camera to below it, which should make it much easier to use.


The S9 has launched with Android 8.0 Oreo. Samsung has redesigned parts of the Bixby app, most notably the camera features, which can now be used to estimate calories in food and provide a faster real-time translation. Samsung has signed up new partnerships with retailers such as Sam’s Club and Nordstrom so now it will let you purchase items directly through Bixby, as well as makeup from Sephora and Cover Girl.

Design & Display

The design for the Galaxy S9 is pretty much the same as Galaxy S8,  the Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch QHD+ infinity display rolling nearly close to the edges of the phone. Again super AMOLED screen with more immersive infinity display technology.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S9 price in the US starts at $719.99 (roughly Rs. 46,600) for the unlocked model. The phones are being launched in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Lilac Purple, and Titanium Grey colors, and will be available from March 16 in select markets. It will go up for pre-orders in the US starting March 2.
