After the success of the recently launched Smartphone, Redmi 5, Xiaomi is planning to launch another Budget Oriented Android Smartphone in India, which the Company would call the Redmi S2.

According to an Article on XDA Developers, the Redmi S2 would support Face Unlock feature and the dual camera’s setup at the back. The smartphone is released especially for the Indian Markets to boost its sales even more in the Country.

The Redmi S2 is rumored to have an LCD display with the 18:9 Aspect ratio and 1440×720 Resolution. We are not yet confirmed about the size of the Screen but we expect it to be somewhere between 5-5.5 inches.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 would be powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip. There would be 2 variants of the device, one with 2 gigs of RAM and 16 gigs of Internal Storage. Another one having 3 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of Internal Storage.

The main USP for the device would be the dual Camera Setup at the back, the Redmi S2 would feature a combination of (Sony 12MP IMX486 OR OmniVision 12MP OV12A10) + Samsung 5MP S5K5E8 with dual flash at the back.

The Redmi S2 would come with the features like EIS(Electronic Image Stabilization) and the Portrait Mode, which is great considering that it would be a budget range smartphone from the Company. On the front, the Redmi S2 would feature a 5MP Camera for selfies by Samsung.

The device is expected to have a dual sim card slot along with a dedicated microSD Card slot which would be a cherry on top. The device will run on the latest version of MIUI 9 based on the Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with the Face Unlock Feature which we expect to be fast like what we have seen in other Xiaomi Devices.

There would be a 3,800 mAh battery powering the device, which would easily last you 2 days with normal usage, considering the Smartphone’s Display and Resolution.

The Device would be launched in China and India only, however, we cannot say anything about the price as of now, but we would update you as soon as we get some more info about it.
