Samsung is gearing up to launch the Samsung Galaxy A9 in India by the end of this month. The main highlight of the smartphone is its quadruple rear camera setup. The smartphone is going to be a premium segment device and will be taking on OnePlus 6T if priced aggressively.
The device has the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset. Four of the cores will be clocked at 2.2 GHz and the other four will be clocked at 1.8 GHz.

The phone will come in two variants one with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and the other one with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The Samsung Galaxy A9 will also have an expandable storage up to 512 GB. The Galaxy A9 will feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
Other than the display the main feature of the phone is its quad camera system. The rear camera consists of one primary 24 MP f/1.7 sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 120-degree view, a 10 MP telephoto lens with up to 2X optical zoom and a 5 MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The phone also features a 24 MP front facing camera for the selfie lovers.
The Galaxy A9 will also include a fingerprint sensor at the back. Moreover, it will also have the face unlock system. The device comes with support for NFC and thus includes the full Samsung Pay experience. The device uses a 3800 mAh battery to power the smartphone.
The sensors on the Samsung Galaxy A9 includes the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and an RGB light sensor. Furthermore, the Galaxy A9 has support for Bluetooth v5.0, 4G VoLTE, WiFi AC. The phone also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port for fast charging.
Samsung Galaxy A9: Pricing and Colors
Finally, the pricing of the device in India is unknown. However, as per reliable sources, the device will be priced aggressively to counter the OnePlus 6T. The Galaxy A9 might cost around ₹36,000 for the 6 GB RAM variant. It will be available in three colors i.e the Caviar Black, Bubblegum Pink, and the Lemonade Blue.
