However, the device is going to be on the costlier side, starting at ₹69,990 for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: What is Special?

Now, the question arises, is there anything special about the device that justifies the pricing? We will not be going into the justification but would like to highlight some interesting things about the device.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a Leica branded triple rear camera setup. The primary sensor of three has a huge 40 MP RGB sensor. The secondary camera is an 8 MP one and finally, the monochrome sensor of the earlier generations has been replaced with a 20 MP wide-angle lens.

The front camera of the phone is a bundle of 24 MP f/2.0 sensor along with an infrared 3D facial recognition sensor. This can be used for secure logins and payments just like Apple’s Face ID.

Furthermore, the Mate 20 Pro also has an in-display fingerprint scanner and it works quite fast. The smartphone features a 4200 mAh battery and it supports wireless charging. There is also support for wireless reverse charging. Huawei has also included SuperCharge technology and as per the company, it allows the phone to charge up to 70 percent in just 30 minutes.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Other Specifications

To power the whole Mate 20 Pro setup, Huawei has used their own Kirin 980 chipset. The Kirin 980 is a 7nm chipset and it features up to 20 percent performance increase from last generation Kirin 970. Huawei also claims the Kirin 980 will offer 40 percent more efficiency and up to 45 percent better GPU performance.

The phone has a 6.39-inch OLED display and features a resolution of 3120 X 1440 pixels at 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone also has a premium looking design with curved glass used in the front and back. Furthermore, the device is IP68 water and dust resistant.

In India, Huawei will be selling the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. The storage is expandable. Though, to expand the storage one will require Huawei’s own Nano-Micro cards. Normal MicroSD cards won’t fit in the device.
