Redmi 7A has finally arrived in India. On Thursday, Redmi officially announced the 7A for the Indian market through a web stream. The Redmi 7A will be the direct successor of the Redmi 6A. As expected, it is a new budget smartphone from Xiaomi with entry-level specifications. Notably, this is the first time when Xiaomi is using a Snapdragon 430 Series processor on their ‘A’ series’ device. So, without wasting time, let’s head over to the specifications.
Redmi 7A Specifications
This entry-level device comes with a 5.45-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 2.5D curved glass display. It has a polycarbonate back and comes with splash resistant P2i coating. The dimensions are 146.30×70.41×9.55mm and weight is 150g.
The Redmi 7A will now come with Snapdragon 439 octa-core (Quad 1.95GHz Cortex A53 + Quad 1.45GHz Cortex A53) SoC coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. 7A will also come in two RAM and storage options- 2GB RAM+16GB and 2GB RAM+32GB. It is further expandable up to 256GB with a dedicated microSD slot.
On the software front, the 7A runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. As per the camera is concerned, it now features a Sony IMX486 on the back. Notably, this is the same sensor we have seen earlier in devices like Mi A2 and Redmi Note 7. Therefore, it packs a 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 1.25um pixel size, PDAF, and f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it got a 5MP camera with support for AI face unlock and beautify. Notably, the back camera will also support AI scene detection after getting an OTA update.
All this backed by a massive 4000mah battery as well. Connectivity options include- Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, Wireless FM Radio, and a Micro-USB port.
Redmi 7A Price and Availability
The Redmi 7A will be available in three colors- Matte Blue, Matte Gold, and Matte Black. The 7A launched at a discounted price of Rs. 5799 for the 2GB+16GB version and Rs. 5999 for the 2GB+32GB version. Notably, the price is valid Only till this July. Hence, after that, it will be priced at Rs. 5999 and Rs. 6199 respectively. Interestingly, Redmi is offering 2 years of warranty for the Redmi 7A. It will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting from July 11th.
