If you’re planning to buy a new TV and have a huge budget then consider the all-new OLED TV launched by LG. The new television is one of the most costly and large TV LG has ever launched. The TV comes at a massive size of 88-inch. Moreover, it is having a resolution of 8K and the panel is OLED. As per LG, the TV will be available starting from July 2020.
There will also be a 77-inch variant of the LG 8K OLED TV. LG claims, the 8K resolution and it’s higher pixel density offers a sharp viewing experience. Furthermore, the OLED panel which offers deep black and vivid color is also amazing. No doubt, the combination of 8K and OLED is one of the main reasons for the high pricing of these TVs.

The new model supports the HEVC, VP9, and AV1 codecs natively. The previous models used to need an external decoder in order to decode AV1 codecs and watch YouTube videos at 8K. Not only that, but the TV also comes with HDMI inputs that can play 8K 60 FPS content easily.
The LG 8K OLED TV also adds support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. These TVs are also compatible with HomeKit and AirPlay 2. There’s also Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos support. LG also claims that both the models will receive updates for Alexa far-field voice compatibility in the future.
Coming to the internal hardware, LG uses its brand new Alpha 9 Gen 3 processor of LG. It uses deep learning technology to automatically optimize video and sound quality. The processor is also capable of upscaling the voice to 5.1 surround sound as well as the video to 8K. It can also recognize faces and texts on the screen.
Both the 88-inch and 77-inch models are part of the LG Signature series. The bigger 88-inch model sells in the US for $29,999 while the smaller one sells for $19,999. However, it is worth noting that native 8K content is not really available. Even then, if you want something future proof, then you can check it out here.
