Vivo to launch Vivo X50 series in India on July 16: Specs, Expected Price

X50 series to have a 90Hz refresh rate

Vivo has announced to launch the Vivo X50 series in India on July 16, 2020. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, the lineup was launched in China last month and we came to know soon after that the series will be coming to India as well.

However, last week Vivo revealed that it will bring only the Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro to India, leaving the Vivo X50 Pro+ reserved exclusively for its home market. The series will launch in India on Thursday at 12 noon via an online launch event.

The official Twitter handle of Vivo India confirmed the launch date and timing in a tweet. It also promoted the camera prowess of the upcoming lineup. The company wrote, “It’s #PhotographyRedefined. Get ready to Xplore brighter & clearer world through the lens of a revolutionary smartphone.”

Vivo X50 series expected price in India

The India pricing of the Vivo X50 series is speculated to be somewhere around its Chinese pricing. The price of X50 starts at Yuan 3,498 in China for the base model of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, which translates to around Rs 35,000. The 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM option is available at Yuan 3,898, which translates to around Rs 39,000.

The X50 Pro, on the other hand, starts at Yuan 4,298 for the base model of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, which translates to around Rs 43,000. The 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM model is available at Yuan 4,698, which translates to around Rs 47,000.

Vivo X50, Vivo X50 Pro specifications

Screen and processor: The Vivo X50 features a 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole display with 2376 x 1080 pixels resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The X50 Pro also sports a similar 90Hz 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display but features curved edges on both sides. Both the X50 and X50 Pro models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB RAM and upto 256GB ROM.

Cameras: The Vivo X50 features a quad-camera setup at the back carrying a 48MP primary lens with OIS, a 13MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro sensor.

The Pro model also sports a quad-rear camera setup with a similar 48MP primary lens but with gimbal OIS support. Other lens on the X50 Pro include an 8MP periscope telephoto with OIS and 5x optical zoom, a 13MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera on both the phones is a 32 MP selfie shooter placed in the punch-hole screen.

Battery and OS: The X50 sports a 4200mAh battery with 33W fast charging whereas the Pro model features a 4315mAh battery with the same charging capability. Both the devices feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and run Funtouch OS 10 based on Android 10.
