WhatsApp keeps experimenting and adding new features to the app with every update. From animated stickers to group video calls, the app offers a lot of stuff and a lot more is on the way. Android users of WhatsApp are soon going to get a camera icon, animated stickers, ringtones for group calls, and a few more features.
The latest beta version 2.20.198.11 of WhatsApp comes with all the features mentioned above. In addition to that, WhatsApp users will also get features like amazing new wallpapers and storage optimization ability. Here are the brief details regarding the upcoming features on WhatsApp.
Ringtone For Group Calls
It has been confirmed that in the upcoming stable version update of WhatsApp, the app will also have a ringtone feature that will allow you to use a different ringtone for group calls. No changes will be made to the one-on-one call ringtone settings. This feature will surely help the people who want to dodge the group calls frequently.
Storage Optimization
The storage optimization feature of WhatsApp will let you see how much of the storage has been used by various forwarded files, chats, and other stuff related to WhatsApp. In the leaked screenshot that shows the storage optimization feature, it can be clearly seen that the forwarded file section has used the maximum space amongst all the files. The remaining space will be highlighted in green and the used space will be highlighted in yellow.
Multi-Device Support
The Facebook-owned company is soon going to make WhatsApp work on multiple devices. A screenshot shared on the web shows the multi-device support feature. With this move, the company is moving forward to make the platform more interactive and user friendly.
In addition to that, the app will also get an advanced search mode that can be used to find pictures, GIFs, videos, and audio messages too. The company has been working on multi-device support for a long time and now, finally it can be expected that the feature will be rolled out for the beta version.
Wallpaper
WhatsApp users love customizing their chat screen by using different Wallpapers form their gallery. Now, the app will allow all the users to use different wallpapers in different chats. This is going to make the app more attractive and user friendly. The feature was already available in WhatsApp rival Hike Messenger and now it will be added to the stable version of WhatsApp too.
UI Modification for Voice Calls
WhatsApp will also improve the voice calling interface as all the buttons will be moved to the bottom. Apart from that, the call disconnecting icon will be placed at the bottom center of the screen. This change will make the app more sorted so that users can easily control the voice calls.
New Animated Stickers
WhatsApp launched its first-ever animated sticker Playful Piyomaru in the first week of July. However, the sticker’s animation was not on a loop that made the animation stop and the user has to again close and open the chat to see the animation. As of now, WhatsApp has already launched a few stickers pack for the beta version of the app and it will soon launch them for the stable version too. It is also expected that in the stable version of WhatsApp, these stickers will play on loop.
