LED Vs Mini-LED: The tech vocabulary is escalating at a rapid rate, keeping pace with each of them is turning to be difficult. Before we get acquainted with a term, the next set with better tech upgrades and with all new advancements and all new vocabulary is ready to ring the bell.
So amongst the heap of terms being coined these days few very prominent terms are being heard every now and then and these are Mini-LED, OLED, and more. Here we are to give you complete details of it and comparing these two with traditional LED technology.

LED Vs Mini-LED And OLED: What Are These Technologies?
What Is Meant By LED?
Beginning from the scratch LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. This technology came into market in no time after the LCD technology hit the market. Coming onto description this technology on comparison with LCD can be understood better.
As in LCD, the pixels of the screen are illuminated by a single back-light and this back-light comprises of multiple fluorescent tubes whereas in LEDs these fluorescent tubes get replaced by 100s of LEDs that eventually help in dividing the entire back-light into 100 light-emitting zones. Eventually, with this LED technology, the overall brightness and contrast got improved. The color bleeding issue observed in LCDs was rectified in this improvised version.
What Is Meant By Mini-LED?
As the name suggests this Mini-LED technology comprises of miniature LEDs (size less than or equal to 0.2mm). Before discussing how it works let us see why has this technology been introduced.
Easy to manufacture, cost-effective, better contrast, perfect brightness, and rid of color bleeding are the features that define this Mini-LED technology. If we have to give it a position in terms of technology line-up this will be place after LED technology. Because Mini-LED is a much improvised and cost-effective LCD up-gradation. Let us look at how this Mini-LED technology works.
As formerly we had discussed of LCD working, in this Mini-LED the fluorescent tubes of LCD get replaced by 1000s of mini LEDs which offer granular control over light intensity. The backlight is now is divided into ample Light Emitting Zones. That separately radiates light to the pixels giving better contrast, perfect darkness, and brightness.
As per speculated news, this Mini-LED technology will be introduced by Apple in all its upcoming launches of iPad and MacBook.

What Is Meant By OLED?
OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. This technology is way different than that of LED, Mini-LED, or QLED. It has nothing to do with back-light. This is no more dependent light getting generated behind the screen and getting showered on the pixel. Rather in this, every pixel is a Light Emitting Diode in itself.
So this technology has gained fame as being “Self-emissive”. It uses its own light not borrowed from any source. If no light is to be produced, pixels shut off giving a perfect dark and eventually maintaining the contrast.
Comparision
Brightness
Since OLEDs have their own pixel radiating light these are the brightest as compared Mini-LEDs and LEDs. So brightness is overtaken by OLEDs.
Contrast
Their is nothing to compare OLEDs being Self-emmisive have better color generating and managing tendency. So OLED offers better contrast as compared to Mini-LED and LED.
Value For Money
This point is where the comparison can be made. Mini-LEDs are far better than LEDs in every aspect and come at a very affordable price range. Whereas OLEDs undoubtedly are packed with great features but aren’t cost-effective. So here if one is searching for a better value for money option then Mini-LEDs should be prioritized.
