Last year in HDC 2019, the company had revealed that every of its smartphone and wearable will get a support of Harmony OS and expected Beta SDK by the end of 2020. And gadgets with this OS will be available for purchase by 2021.

A recent announcement in the context of Harmony OS, made by Mr. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei CBG states, “Starting on 10 September, HarmonyOS is open to 128KB-128MB IoT devices, such as smart TVs, wearables, cars, and more. In April 2021, we will open it to 128MB-4GB devices and in October 2021, HarmonyOS will be opened for devices above 4GB.

What is Harmony OS?

This OS is designed to be a compatible attachment to every gadget no matter what the hardware support is. Harmony OS is made on a single kernel and has a single app structure, which differentiates it from the present pattern of the hybrid kernel, directing to a different technological path. Creating a pool of multiple features in one OS.

The Harmony OS model, as per said by the company, is based on the “Deterministic Latency Engine“. The principle of its working will be “reallocation of resources in real-time” creating an overall efficient technology.
