Paytm – ICICI Bank Partnered to Offer Digital Credit

Digital Payments app Paytm and India’s one of the biggest private sector bank ICICI Bank partnered together to offer an interest-free short-term digital credit card. This initiative named as Paytm-ICICI Bank Postpaid. It will offer users for instant credit to movie tickets, bill payments, flights and physical goods and much more.

Paytm – ICICI Bank Postpaid offer:

The Paytm-ICICI Bank Postpaid is a digital credit account with instant activation online. There is no of documentation or physical branch visit. Based on the credit bureau check the bank will offer free credit up to 45 days for customers. Credit limit ranges from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 10,000, extendable up to Rs. 20,000 based on the repayment history.

Anup Bagchi, executive director ICICI Bank Said,

“In this endeavor, we have leveraged upon Big Data to develop a new algorithm that instantly assesses the creditworthiness of customers using a combination of financial and digital parameters to sanction the credit line instantly.”

Once the credit limit is set for a customer, a consolidated bill is generated on the first day of the next month. The bill has to be paid by the 15th of the same month. Customers can repay the credit using their Paytm Wallet balance, debit card or net banking.

“We believe our customers are sincere with their payments and Paytm Postpaid will play a major role in helping them pay for their daily expenses on time. We are happy to launch credit in a digital way to the masses in the form of Paytm Postpaid with ICICI Bank as our first partner.”

Paytm-ICICI Bank Postpaid will have a quick checkout option for customers with the Paytm Passcode. Initially, Paytm-ICICI Bank Postpaid will be available for select ICICI Bank users. It will be available to all non-ICICI Bank customers shortly.
