Lenovo Just refreshed Lenovo Thinkpad portfolio with 2018 line up ahead of the CES 2018 event in Las Vegas. Lenovo announced the updates in the ThinkPad X, ThinkPad T, and ThinkPad L laptop series.
In the ThinkPad X series, Lenovo has announced the X280 and X380 laptops. Mil-Spec tested for durability, the ThinkPad X series can work in some of the world’s most inhospitable places. Lenovo X380 Yoga convertible has a 360-degree hinge and a 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen. Powered by a Core i7 8th-generation processor with vPro tech, 16GB of system RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
It also features an active pen and an infrared camera for Windows Hello facial recognition login. Battery life is up to 13.6 hours, with Rapid Charge support which delivers 80 percent battery in 60 minutes.
On the other hand, ThinkPad X280 runs with the same specs as the above (Except the SSD isn’t of the NVMe variety). It offers a battery life of up to 16.6 hours. X280 is 20 percent lighter (2.5 pounds) and 15 percent thinner (17.4mm) compared to its predecessor.
The ThinkPad X280 price starts at $999 (roughly Rs. 63,400) and the X380 Yoga will be available starting at $1,459 (roughly Rs. 92,500). The Lenovo ThinkPad X lineup will be available later in January.
The ThinkPad T series is the more sort of business series from Lenovo that aims for the corporate users. The ThinkPad T lineup has introduced new security features like the IR camera, fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter Camera. It also has the 8th Gen Intel Core Processors underneath and offers Optional discrete graphics power premium displays up to UHD on T580.
Lenovo claims that the T480s is one of the lightest business laptops in its category at just 2.9 pounds. Lenovo also claimed that these devices can get up to 27 hours of battery life.
The price of T480 starts at $989 (roughly Rs. 62,700) and the T480s starts at $1,269 (roughly Rs. 80,500). The Lenovo T580 price starts at $1,079 (roughly Rs. 68,400). The Lenovo ThinkPad T lineup will be available starting January 2018.
ThinkPad L series includes notebooks with 13.3-inch displays and a new Yoga model. The ThinkPad L380 has a 13.3-inch Full HD screen and with up to a Core i7 processor, 32GB of system memory, and up to a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
The ThinkPad L380 Yoga is the convertible with a 13.3-inch Full HD display, and boasts same specs as the L380, with a battery life of up to 12 hours.
However, ThinkPad L480 and L580 models have 14-inch and 15-inch displays respectively. It also features identical specifications as mentioned earlier. The ThinkPad L580 can also offer new discrete AMD GPU and you can add a hard disk of up to 1TB or 2TB.
The ThinkPad L380 Yoga will be available at $549 (roughly Rs. 34,800), the ThinkPad L380 will cost $449 (roughly Rs. 28,500), the ThinkPad L480 price starts at $779 (roughly Rs. 49,400), and the L580 price starts at $769 (roughly Rs. 48,700). All these models will be available from February 2018.
Lenovo also released a new 2-in-1 PC called the Lenovo Tablet 10 alongside ThinkPad laptops. New detachable powered by Intel Celeron N Series processors designed to benefit vertical applications such as healthcare and retail.
It also features fingerprint reader and discrete Trusted Platform Module for business-class protection. Integrated rechargeable pen, up to 9 hours of battery life and Wireless WAN enhance the user experience. It will be available from January 2018, starting price will be announced shortly.
Lenovo has also announced the ThinkVision X24 and ThinkVision P32u monitors. ThinkVision X24 is an ultra-thin monitor at just 4mm thin with narrow (1.1mm) bezels. Full HD In-Plane Switching (IPS) display provides a wide viewing angle and 96 percent sRGB color gamut.
ThinkVision P32u is a UHD 4K display with multi-color space capability. The 32-inch near-edgeless monitor features Thunderbolt 3 In and Out ports for daisy-chain capability. User comfort is maximized with a flexible stand that offers lift, tilt, swivel, and pivot.
ThinkVision X24 will be available from January 2018 at $249 (roughly Rs. 15,800) and ThinkVision P32u will be available from March 2018 at $1,349 (roughly Rs. 85,500).
ThinkPad Ultra Docking Station is a new approach to traditional docking design with a one-touch slide-to-connect mechanism. Designed to accommodate most 12, 14 and 15-inch ThinkPad laptops. It provides complete connectivity options and keylock security for physical asset protection.
ThinkPad Docking Station will be available in three different variants from this month: Basic 90W at $199 (roughly Rs. 12,600), Pro 135W at $249 (roughly Rs. 15,800), and Ultra 135W at $299 (roughly Rs. 19,000).
