Today at an event in New Delhi, Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor launched Honor 9 lite, its latest mid-range smartphone in India. After the Honor 9i, Honor 9 lite is the second device which offers quad cameras. It was first introduced in China last month with 5.65-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a taller 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Honor 9 Lite is the second device after the Honor V10, which runs the new EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 (Oreo) out of the box. Honor 9 lite is all about flaunting the style as it features 2.5D curved shiny glass back. Now coming to the features, Honor packed this device with some interesting features.
Honor 9 Lite Keynotes:
Firstly the design, as mentioned earlier Honor 9 lite features 2.5D shiny glass back and the side panel is enforced with metal frame. It has a 5.65-inch with an HD+ resolution of 2160×1080 with tall 18:9 aspect ratio. With all this design aspect the Honor 9 lite simply looks stunning.
On the Software part, this phone runs Huawei’s custom skin EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0. Honor says EMUI 8.0 system response speed is increased by 60% and operation speeds are increased as well.
Now coming to the hardware, It is powered by the Kirin 659 chipset with an i5 co-processor. Basically, it consumes low power and assists the main processor in performing complex calculations and operate in a low power “always sensing mode”.
The main USP of this device is the Quad camera, Both sets of dual cameras feature a 13-megapixel primary camera with a 2-megapixel secondary camera. The company has touted AI capabilities of the smartphone saying that it can identify whether the subject is male or female and make adjustments to the images captured by its camera accordingly. The front camera also comes with f2.0 wide aperture for selfies. In addition, there is also support for portrait mode with hardware depth of field and the rear camera now comes with an Updated ISP.
Honor 9 Lite Price and Availability:
The device will be available at Rs. 11,999 for the 3GB RAM+32GB ROM variant. However, as an introductory launch offer, the company is offering a Rs 1,000 discount on it. That makes the price of 3GB+32GB variant Rs. 10,999. There is also a 4GB+64GB ROM variant which will be available at Rs. 14,999. It will offer 10% instant cashback on Citi Bank Debit and Credit Cards as a part of launch offer.
In addition, Honor 9 lite will be available in Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey, and Midnight Black color variants. Honor 9 lite will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart and the Honor India Store in flash sales. The first flash sale will be on 12 am IST on January 21, and the second at 12 pm IST the same day. Then on January 22 and 23 respectively.
