Just a day before Google surprised everyone by releasing its latest Android P developer preview for its Pixel smartphones. However, the majority of Android-powered devices still runs on Android Nougat or older. As we all know, Samsung is a major Android Smartphone making company. However, they also lack behind while it comes to Android OS updates. But now Samsung has come forward and revealed the timeline of its devices to receive Android oreo(8.0) update. Furthermore, Samsung posted a list of handsets as well as a timeline on when they will receive the Android Oreo update.
Samsung already refreshed its TouchWiz to Samsung Experience UI. All Samsung smartphones which will receive Android oreo will come with Samsung Experience UI 9.0 on top. The recently launched Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ already runs Android Oreo Out-of-the-box. The company earlier canceled Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo update over a reboot glitch. However, Samsung fixed it later and resumed the OS update and it now runs on Oreo now. Now going back to the latest report, here is the list of Galaxy devices that will receive Android Oreo-Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A3 (2017)
The company also mentions the timeline for Android Oreo update for its devices as well. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will start receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update from March 30, reveals the company’s Turkey website. The next smartphones to receive the update will be Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The update for these smartphones will start on April 13. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A3, which were launched in 2017, will also receive the Android Oreo update. The planned update date for these smartphones is May 25. However, Samsung has not provided any official details regarding the rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Indian users yet. We hope that Samsung would not delay anymore so be patient until then.
