How to know if Your WhatsApp Message was Read While Blue Ticks Turned Off?

As we all know, WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app and we just can’t ignore this in our daily lives. The simplicity of this app is something that attracts everyone. Now, Whatsapp has many nifty little features and among them, one is the blue tick. So the Blue tick allows users to understand if their messages read by the other party or not. Some people just love those blue ticks and some absolutely don’t. The second type of people is those who like to maintain their privacy and there is nothing wrong with it. You may have a friend, or an acquaintance, who has turned off the Blue Tick/Read Receipt feature. However, it might be annoying sometimes. So, today we will share this small trick to know if your friend read your message or not. Even after they kept their Blue Tick turned off in WhatsApp.

WhatsApp introduced the Read Receipt feature back in 2014. After this, It simply informs the users that their message has been read by the recipient. As we mentioned above, many people don’t want to let others know about their availability. So they can simply go to WhatsApp settings ->Account ->Privacy and just turn off the Read Receipts option. 

The trick to Bypass The Blue Ticks Turned Off

Now there are people who are so concerned that they turn off Blue Ticks and as well as the last seen in WhatsApp. However, WhatsApp’s Read Receipts feature only works for texts and media content for individual chats. That means that the voice clip messages aren’t supported by this feature. WhatsApp on its blog clearly states that the blue ticks are not compatible with voice clips.

 “Note: This won’t disable the read receipts for group chats or play receipts for voice messages. There’s no way to turn these settings off.”

So the trick is to send a simple voice message of any duration to that person. The moment they listen to the clip, the voice clip message will show blue ticks, indicating that the message has been read. In addition, it also means that if you want a confirmation that your message has been read, you should send a voice message. However, this method is not full proof as it is not a great way to find out whether a person is ignoring you deliberately or if the person is really too busy.

This trick only works when the other person listens to the voice message. So if they do not play the message and simply delete it or ignore it then, of course, there will be no blue ticks.
