Main article: Motorola has announced the all-new Moto G6 series smartphones in India. The refreshed smartphones do sport some design changes as well as new specifications. The Moto G6 will be a successor to the last generation Moto G5S whereas the Moto G6 Play is the successor o last years Moto G5. As per Motorola, the Moto G6 Play is mainly for those who are in search of a phone around ₹10,000. However, the more expensive Moto G6 is designed for those who also care about the design.
The Moto G6 sports a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Like other Moto devices, the G6 also sports on-screen buttons and there’s a fingerprint scanner below the display. The fingerprint scanner can also double as a one-touch navigation button. To power the device, the Moto G6 comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 which is clocked at 1.8 GHz. There is the Adreno 506 GPU to take care of games and other graphics-intensive tasks.
Coming to the camera part, the device comes with a dual rear camera setup. The primary sensor is a 12 MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and the second one is a 5 MP sensor which acts as a depth sensor. In the front, the G6 has got a 16 MP shooter and a flash. Motorola has also improved their camera app as there are a few new features. In an upcoming update, Motorola is also supposed to integrate the Google lens into the phone’s camera app.
The smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and not the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. The device sports a 3000 mAh battery and Motorola also bundles a 15W turbo-charger in the box. Furthermore, the smartphone has a USB type-C port which is a great inclusion. There is also face unlock in the device and Motorola claims the feature is accurate and secure.

The display of the Moto G6 Play is a 5.7-inches 720 x 1440 pixels IPS LCD panel with 18:9 aspect ratio. Like its elder brother, the G6 Play also sports a fingerprint scanner beneath the display. One of the most exciting points of the device is the battery of the device which is a 4000 mAh battery. Moreover, there’s a 15W charger in the box which will charge the device faster.

The Moto G6 is an Amazon exclusive and it sells for ₹13,999. The G6 Play is, however, a Flipkart exclusive and retails for ₹11,999. The buyers will get free data from Airtel as per the launch offers. Both the devices will be available across the 600 Moto Hubs in India.
