Earlier this year we reported that Microsoft is working on a low-cost Surface tablet. Microsoft yesterday released a teaser which featured a new product. This new product has made its way in the market today. Microsoft’s Surface Chief Product Officer Panos Panay has announced that the new Surface Go tablet is an affordable tablet aimed at Schools and educators.
The new Surface Go is Priced at $399 which offers a 10” display with 3:2 aspect ratio. It includes a 7th Generation Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y with 4 GB and 8 GB RAM options. The new Surface Go offers a fanless design and a nine-hour battery life. Microsoft has also added USB Type-C for connectivity. Surface Go comes with 64GB eMMC and 128GB or 256GB SSD storage options. The company also added SD Card support for expansion which supports cards up to 1 TB. The Surface Go consists of a 5MP front-facing camera with Windows Hello and an 8MP rear auto-focus camera. Surface Go will support Dolby Audio Premium as well as the Surface Pen. Microsoft hasn’t commented on the Surface Dial support though.

The new Surface Go will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow in 35 countries. The shipping will start from August 2. Microsoft has also confirmed that a LTE model will be coming later this year. The price of the Surface Go which is $399 is excludig the Keyboard which will be priced at $99. The device will be available in the following countries: US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Taiwan, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Malaysia, and Thailand. The device will be available soon in Japan, Singapore, Korea, and China as well. The Surface Go will make its way to India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain later this year.
