Earlier, Xiaomi teased its Poco sub-brand in India and also revealed that it will be known as Pocophone globally. Now, Xiaomi has taken it even further by announcing the launch date in India. Today the company has confirmed that the Poco F1 will launch in India on August 22nd at an event in Delhi. Notably, the invite has the tagline ‘Master of Speed’. In addition, the company has also announced its partnership with Qualcomm.

The company already confirmed the phone will be powered by Snapdragon SoC and there are very high chances that it will be the Snapdragon 845. Recently, an unboxing video of Poco F1 surfaced online and confirmed the specifications of the smartphone.
Pocophone F1 or Poco F1 Specifications
Poco F1 will feature a 5.99-inch display Full-HD+ IPS LCD display with an 18:7:9 aspect ratio. On the top, there will be a notch and a visible chin on the bottom. Under the hood, it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC along with liquid cooling technology. In addition, it will boot Android 8.1 Oreo with MiUi 9.5 on top. Poco F1 would come in three variants– 6GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM+128GB storage, and 8GB RAM+256GB storage. The 6GB models will be available in Blue, Gradient, Grey, and Red colors. However, the 8GB model will come with Blue, Gradient, Grey, and Kevlar color options.
Poco F1 also packs a massive 4000mAh battery which will also support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Furthermore, It will come with a dual camera set up on the back along with the fingerprint sensor just below it. Therefore, it sports 12MP rear camera, f/1.7 with dual LED Flash, 1.4μm pixel size + secondary 5MP camera for depth sensing. There is also a 20MP front-facing camera with LED flash. Looking at the camera setup it is quite evident that it resembles Redmi Note 5 AI’s camera. Hence, the cameras on Poco F1 will also pack the AI capabilities and face-unlock feature.
Notably, a recent video revealed its performance on AnTuTu benchmark in which the hardware scored 258,149 points. Rounding up everything, it seems like Xiaomi will price Poco F1 very aggressively to take on Asus 5Z and OnePlus 6. However, the actual price will be revealed on August 22.
