Samsung has finally launched the Samsung Galaxy Watch in India today. The watch which was earlier released in New York alongside with the Galaxy Note 9 will now be available in India. The Samsung Galaxy Watch is a successor of the Gear S4 and will be selling for ₹24,990. The new watch features a circular and more natural watch-like design. It also has Samsung’s always on display and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ panel. Moreover, the watch also has a 5 ATM rating which means it is water resistant. The Galaxy Watch runs on Tizen OS and rotating bezel UI.
As you might have already read, the Samsung Galaxy watch is powered by Tizen OS. Also, it features the Always on Display and Corning’s Gorilla Glass DX+ panel. Inside the watch, there’s a dual-core Exynos 9110 SoC, 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of Internal Storage. Furthermore, the watch also features sensors like the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyro, and HRM.
The watch comes with a IP68 water and dust resistant rating. As per Samsung, the watch comes with the MIL-STD-810G rating which confirms the durability of the watch.
Coming to the health and Fitness features, the watch comes with a stress tracker and sleep tracker. The sleep tracker of the app can detect REM cycles and other sleep cycles and makes sleep monitoring super easy for the users. The Galaxy watch also features 59 workout profiles in which under 21 indoor exercises.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch comes in two variants. One with the 42mm dial size and another with the 46mm size. The 42mm one sports a 1.2-inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360×360. There’s also a 270 mAh battery inside the 42mm watch.
The 46mm variant of the Samsung Galaxy watch, however, comes with a 1.3-inch super AMOLED display. The resolution of the display is the same though at 360 x 360 pixels. The battery of the 46mm variant of the Galaxy watch is 472 mAh one.
Currently, Samsung will be only selling the Bluetooth variant of the watch. The company has not mentioned anything about the LTE version. The 42mm variant of the Samsung Galaxy watch will be available for ₹24,990 whereas the 46mm variant will sell at ₹29,990 in India.
