After the release of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus released last year February, Samsung will be 18the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco with the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, and S10e. In spite of the poor sales of the S9 and S9 plus models, Samsung is holding on to hope that the S10 variants will shoot up the sales chart.
The Galaxy S10 variants launched on February 20 and released on March 8 (as given on Samsung’s page) after pre-order opens. It is rumored that another Samsung product, the foldable smartphone Galaxy X will also be sharing the spotlight with them along with 5G smartphone Galaxy S10 X.
Au contraire to the S9 model, which was only an upgrade of the 8 model, Galaxy S10 packs quite a punch making it highly anticipated even so long before its release. Some basic specs of the model include a 6.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3040 mega-pixel. It will also be the first phone to sport a Snapdragon 855 chipset.
This face-lock enabled phone comes embedded with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and supports Android 9 (Pie). The phone also has a single selfie camera and three rear cameras (12MP, 16MP, 13MP). It will be available in two storage variants with a RAM of 6GB and 8GB and ROM of 128GB to 1TB.
The GALAXY S10 is rumored to be the same size as the S9 but with fewer bezels. It has a 6.1-inch screen and three rear cameras.
The GALAXY S10 PLUS is made to be the successor of the S9 Plus. This model has a bigger screen of 6.4-inches, four rear and two front cameras. It is rumored to have a 4000mAh battery.
The GALAXY S10e (e: essential) is a comparatively modest model, created to compete with iPhone XR. Expected to be a smaller and less expensive device with only a 5.8-inch display, it will also not sport the headphone jack.
The prices for the models haven’t been fixed yet, however, an estimate can be given. The Galaxy S10 is expected to cost $840 ( Rs. 59,965 approx.). The Galaxy S10 Plus would be the most expensive of the lot. The 6GB/128GB variant might cost around $1,190 (Rs. 84,950 approx.) and the 8GB/1TB might be around $1,475 (Rs. 1,05,295 approx.)
Since the beginning of the new year, there have been innumerable leaks about Samsung smartphones. A lot of information has already been released, leaving little to the imagination. However, it has only contributed to fanning the fire of anticipation in the hearts of its loyal customers. Being its tenth-anniversary, Samsung seems resolved to come back with a bang and if all goes well, a bang it shall be!
