After its separation from Xiaomi, Redmi has debuted as an independent company with the Redmi note 7 as its torch. Released in China from the 15th of January, Note 7 has taken the smartphone market by a storm.
As with many other smartphones, the Redmi Note 7 comes in 3 variants of RAM, namely- 3GB, 4GB and 6GB. The 3GB phone comes equipped with an internal storage of 32GB, whereas the others sport a ROM of 64 GB each. Its price starts from Rs. 11,000/- (for the 3GB RAM model) and goes up to Rs. 15,000/- (for the 6GB RAM model). The storage can be expanded further with external SD cards.
Keeping to the tradition of Redmi, this smartphone also packs a lot of drool-worthy features within a reasonable price range.
SHOOT AWAY
The Redmi Note 7 comes with a powerful camera combination of a 48-megapixel (with a Samsung GM1 sensor and f/1.8 aperture) and a 5-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture) camera in the rear. This combination, with the help of dual flash, supports HDR and panorama mode, amongst many others. The face is adorned with a 13MP camera for selfie lovers. Inevitably, the selfie camera also supports features like Smart Beauty, Front HDR, Background Blur and many others.
A CLASS APART
The Redmi Note 7 comes in bright classy colour variants such as Bright Black, Fantasy Blue and Twilight Gold. It also boasts a glassy look as opposed to the bland matte look imposed on its predecessors. As such, it is claimed to be the most good-looking smartphone n the Redmi note series. This along with a 6.3’’ screen and 4100mAh battery makes it a highly desirable phone in the sub-20,000 price range.
THE REDMI NOTE 7 IS WATERPROOF?!
Redmi has really gone all out for their debut. It is hoarded with features; the most highlighting one being its waterproofness. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun had himself revealed this prior to launch. However, it is not entirely waterproof, but only splash-proof. Only some areas like the SIM card slot, USB port, and the headphone jack have watertight seals. Sadly, the device will not be protected if drowned. Apart from all these, this brilliant piece of electronic, which has Dual SIM slots (Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM) also possesses the connectivity options of Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and USB Type-C (this aids in faster data transfer and faster charging). Furthermore, its sensors include a Fingerprint sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
As is quite obvious, Redmi is taking the task of being an independent company very seriously. The Redmi Note 7 seems to be by far the best smartphone that has passed through the hands of Redmi. Packing so many features into a device and then selling it for a reasonable price is not a common feat, yet Redmi has accomplished that. Furthermore, in spite of being overladen with so many specifications, it is expected to give smooth sailing thanks to its Android Oreo OS and 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC processor. It has not been released in India yet, however, it has been rightly predicted that it would sell like hotcakes.
