Realme X vs Redmi X aka Poco F2: Battle of the X’s

Earlier, Redmi launched its Note 7 pro in India with a disruptive price tag meanwhile Realme challenged Redmi with its Realme 3 Pro at the same price. In very less time, the sub-brand of oppo became a worthy competitor of Redmi in India. Notably, Realme is the only brand in India which is currently giving a really tough competition to Xiaomi. Now after disrupting the Indian market, it seems like the battle will further continue in China as well.

Both companies are set to launch their new phones in China. While Redmi is planning to launch the Redmi X in China on May 14, Realme is set to launch its Realme X in China on May 15. Notably, Redmi X will debut later in India as the POCO F2. Whereas, the Realme X will be the first smartphone launch from Realme outside India. Both the smartphones will come with premium features but as of now, we have only leaks and speculations while Realme confirmed some of them. So let’s take a closer look at how they fare against each other on paper.

Redmi X Expected Specifications:

Redmi X is said to debut globally as the POCO F2. According to the reports, it will come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 flagship SoC. In addition, RAM and Storage option may go up to 8GB and 256GB respectively. It will sport a 6.39-inch FHD+ display and will run Android Pie on MIUI 10 on top. On the camera section, it is rumored to come with a triple camera setup. It will likely to feature a 48MP+8MP+13MP camera array on the back. However, on the front, it will more likely to feature a single 32MP selfie shooter. As far as the pricing is concerned, Redmi X aka Poco F2 may launch at a starting price of Rs. 25000.

Realme X Expected Specifications:

Realme X may feature 6.5-inch notch less AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is also confirmed that it will be the first Realme device to come with a 16MP pop-up selfie camera. On the back, it may feature 48MP + 5MP dual rear cameras. Most interestingly, it will be featuring the latest Snapdragon 730 SoC based on the 8nm process. The dimensions of the device are 161.2×76×9.4mm and it will feature 3680mAh battery along with VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It will run the latest Android 9.0 (Pie) with ColorOS 6.0 on top. Notably, it is expected to be priced between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.
