Idea Launched Rs.999 and Rs.1,999 Long Term Prepaid Plans with 365 Days Validity

Vodafone Idea merger made the two companies’ joint entity a telecom giant in India. Since then the two companies are following each other’s footstep as well. After the merger, we have seen quite a few changes in their offerings also. Earlier, Vodafone launched two long term prepaid plans priced at Rs.1,999 and Rs.999 respectively. Both prepaid plans come with the validity of 365 days. In our view, long term prepaid plans could be extremely beneficial for both users and the company. Notably, there are users who are willing to pay one time in order to get a hassle-free service for one year. On the other hand, some users are looking for a plan that only offers unlimited calling whereas data is not a concern. In these cases, the long term plans could play a big role if more operators are willing to offer the same.

Following the footsteps of Vodafone, Idea has now launched two new prepaid plans priced at Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 999 respectively. So let’s have a closer look at the new prepaid plans.

Idea Rs.999 Prepaid Plan

The Rs.999 plan comes with the validity of 365 days. It offers a total of 12GB data for the entire validity. In addition, Idea is offering unlimited local+ STD and roaming calls with 100 SMS/per day along with the plan. However, this plan is valid only for Punjab circle and Vodafone did the same as well with their Rs.999 plan. Therefore, it is disappointing to see that it is not available in pan India. In contrast, Airtel has a similar prepaid plan of Rs.998 but with slightly less validity of 336 days.

Idea Rs.1,999 Prepaid Plan

Now coming to the Rs.1,999 plan, it offers the same validity of one year as well. However, this plan comes with 1.5GB daily 4G/3G/2G data along with unlimited local+STD and roaming calls with 100 SMS/per day. Similar to Vodafone, this plan is only available in the Kerala circle. As of now, the company didn’t confirm whether in future the two plans would be available in pan India basis or not.

City Bank and Idea Partnership

Recently, City bank and Idea partnered to provide a unique offer for their customers. According to the offer, the new City bank credit card holder will be eligible to get 1.5GB daily data for 365 days for free along with unlimited calling benefits. In order to avail this, one must spend a minimum of Rs.4,000 using the card in the first 30 days of issue. Notably, it will be a limited period offer exclusively for Idea users.
