Earlier, Redmi had launched its Note 7 series in India by introducing the Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. Now, Redmi has added another device in that portfolio named as the Redmi Note 7S. It will exist in between the previous two models. To be precise, it is a slightly upgraded version of Note 7. Notably, the newly launched Note 7S is the same device as China’s Note 7. During the launch of this new device, Manu Kumar Jain emphasized how this device is bringing the 48MP camera experience at an affordable price. Apart from this main highlight, let’s have a look at the complete specifications as well.
Redmi Note 7S Specifications
It packs the same 6.3-inch Full HD+ DotNotch display offering an 81.37% screen-to-body ratio. The display is a 2.5D curved glass LTPS in-cell display with 1500:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits brightness, and 84% NTSC Color Gamut. Note 7S comes with the same Aura Glass design back as well and both sides of the device have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection along with P2i splash-resistant coating.
It is powered by the well-known Snapdragon 660 mobile Platform clocked at 2.2GHz with Adreno 512 GPU. Redmi Note 7S will be available in two variants- 3GB LPDDR4x RAM with 32GB internal and 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB internal. It runs the latest Android 9 Pie and MIUI 10 on top.
Coming to the cameras. it features a 48MP (1/2″ Samsung GM1 sensor) rear camera with LED Flash with f/1.79 aperture, 0.8μm pixel size, PDAF, and EIS. There is also a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size. Notably, the camera on the Note 7 Pro is still superior as it uses the Sony sensor. On the front, it has a 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12μm pixel size.
Lastly, it packs a 4000mah battery with Quick Charge 4 support. Connectivity options include- Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 /5GHz) Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm jack. Furthermore, Redmi Note 7S doesn’t skip any sensors as well.
Redmi Note 7S Price and Availability
The Note 7S will be available in three colors- Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue. The 3GB RAM with 32GB storage will retail for Rs. 10,999, and the 4GB with 64GB storage will be available at Rs. 12,999. It will go on sale via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores from May 23. Furthermore, it will be available soon in the offline market via Mi Studio and Xiaomi partner retail stores.
