The Nest Hello first launched back in 2017. However, it is still very functional and Google is constantly adding features to it. It comes with a 160-degree field of view, so it can even capture very tall guests. The Nest also comes with HDR enabled camera. It has the ability to detect persons waiting outside. It will send you photos of people standing in front of your door even if they don’t ring the bell. Another great feature of Google Nest Hello is it can automatically reply to people waiting outside. You can configure a set of quick actions which you can use to quickly reply to people waiting outside. Moreover, you can also use the Nest app to communicate with the people waiting in front of your doorstep.

Last year, Google added another feature which would let the Nest Hello detect parcels. It will automatically send an alert once it detects a package. However, for that, you will have to subscribe to the Nest Aware subscription which starts at $5 per month. The subscription comes with three different plans of $5, $10 and $30. These plans let you keep a 5-day video history for $5, 10-day video history for $10, and 30-day video history for the $30 plan. Other than that you get 24/7 video recording, clips, and time-lapses, activity zones, notifications, etc.

Should You Purchase it in 2020?

The smart security device launched at $229 in 2017. However, the price is now down to $199. Moreover, during sales and with other offers you can even get it for as low as $170. At $170 the Nest Hello is a great device to enhance the security at your home even in 2020.
