Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 pro in India tomorrow. But as it stands, the excitement is way more than expected as again a new set of leaks appears. From past one month, we have seen a lot of leaks about Redmi Note 5. But this time, just ahead of the official launch the full spec sheet of the device has leaked.

The leaked official specifications sheet of the Redmi Note 5 confirms one important thing. That the Redmi Note 5 is nothing other than a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus. The specifications of both the devices are completely same and so is the design. The Redmi 5 Plus released back in December 2017 in China will enter the Indian smartphone market. However, the big surprise for the Indian consumers will be the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Redmi Note 5 Pro

The device marketed as ‘India’s Camera Beast’ will appear with an iPhone X like vertical dual camera setup. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC will be powering the smartphone. The Redmi Note 5 comes with an Octa-core processor and it has a clock speed of 1.8 GHz. The graphics processing unit of the Note 5 pro is Adreno 509.

There are no physical buttons on the front of both the devices. Just like the Redmi Note 5 the Note 5 Pro also has a 5.99-inch FHD+ display along with the 2.5D glass.

Coming to the camera part, the phone has a 12+5 MP rear camera setup. The 12 MP sensor is the same of Redmi Note 5’s rear camera with f/2.2 lens and 1.25 μm pixel size. The second however is new. The f/2.0 lens (with 1.12 μm pixel size) is to get sharp in focus foreground and blurred background. The front camera of the Redmi Note 5 is a 20 MP Sony IMX376 sensor and it comes with a LED light.

Xiaomi has used a 4000 mAh battery to power the device. However, it is pretty sad that it has to be charged with old Micro USB connector rather than a USB Type-C. Moreover, the fingerprint scanner od the device is on the back side.

The smartphone will launch with MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat. It is sad that Xiaomi is still launching devices with Android Nougat instead of the latest Android Oreo. There will be three variants of the Redmi Note 5 Pro – 3 GB + 32 GB, 4 GB + 64 GB and 6 GB + 64 GB. The phone will also be available in four color variants – Blue, Rose Gold, Champagne Gold and Black. Below is the complete specification of the smartphone.
