WhatsApp introduced Delete for Everyone in last year November. It was one of the most demanding features from the users. Delete for Everyone allows users to delete the message accidentally sent to a wrong contact or a group. However, a user could only delete a message for everyone within 7 minutes after sending the message. In addition, that is the limitation which is bugging many users.
Delete for Everyone Update:
It looks like WhatsApp is listening to their users. In addition, there is an update to extend the timeframe of Delete for Everyone. The most recent WhatsApp beta version (2.18.69) now gives users up to 4,096 seconds which is roughly 68 minutes and 16 seconds to use delete for everyone in a chat. Currently, in the stable version, users have to use delete for everyone within 420 seconds which is 7 minutes. WABetaInfo spotted this feature first. The new update also fixes the gif section crash and bring in some more Emojis. Depending on the response, the timeframe extension will be implemented in the stable version. As of now, this feature is only available on Android and it will soon make its way to the iOS app.
More WhatsApp beta Features:
In addition, WABetaInfo also noted that v2.18.68 WhatsApp beta version includes Stickers features that disabled by default. It will most likely be enabled in the next update. In addition, WhatsApp is reportedly working on new ‘Forwarded message’ that will help the receiver aware of the source of the message if he/she has forwarded the message. The new feature first spotted on beta version (2.18.67). This feature could be amongst the first steps to tackle spam and fake news circulation in WhatsApp.
In addition, WhatsApp Beta 2.18.71 has included the feature will show you a new UI, presenting a locked microphone button. Once appeared, you will need to slide up your finger for enabling the lock recording. Lastly, users will be able to read the size of a specific stickers pack before downloading it.
**Note- Most of the features tested under beta versions do not necessarily make it to the final version.
