Razer Phone Keynotes:
The company is heavily marketing the new UltraMotion display on the Razer Phone. As this is the first Android device featuring a massive 120Hz refresh rate display. That means zero lag in frame rates.
The screen aspect ratio is not 18:9 but it is not a bummer at all. Razer opted for the dual front stereo speaker for enhanced audio experience. They know exactly what gamers need which is better grip while gaming.
Also, Razer Phone display has that wide color gamut that means it can show more colors than any other device can.
Razer has also put a focus on the smartphone’s dual front-facing speaker with dual amplifiers and Audio Adapter with THX certified DAC. Yes, sadly there is no 3.5mm jack.
The software is stock Android Nougat 7.1.1 with the premium version of the Nova Launcher set as default. Though, Razer promised android oreo update on next year’s 1st quarter.
Razer says that the metal frame of the phone will work as a heatsink. It’ll allow you to play games at the highest quality for the longest time.
On the camera side, there is a 12MP f/1.75 wide-angle sensor along with a 13MP f/2.6 zoom sensor at the back. Both include PDAF and come with dual tone LED flash. At the front, an 8MP fixed-focus f/2.0 camera.
Razer has packed in a 4000mAh battery into the Razer Phone. It is pretty rare to see a massive battery in a flagship-grade device. It also becomes the first phone to support Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 4.0+ charging standard. Thumbs up to Razer for the battery part.
There is also a massive 8GB RAM inside this device. It is a bit of a surprise that only 64GB internal storage. That could be perfect if they put 128GB. Anyway, we got a memory card slot for increasing the storage.
Price & Availability:
The smartphone is priced at $700 (approx. Rs.45000) and it will available in North America and Europe starting from November 17.
The company is also offering 1,337 units of Razer Phone Special Edition, which comes with company’s iconic green triple-headed snake logo.
Verdict:
Razer Phone box content is also amazing. Inside the Razer Phone box, you’ll find a THX-certified audio dongle that lets you hook up headphones and promises 24-bit audiophile-quality sound. also, the cables are breaded too that’s a nice touch.
It is 2017 and we are now kind of getting used to of that 18:9 ratio. Maybe in the next iteration, we can expect that from Razer.
Overall we can say Razer did a good job on the very 1st attempt.
