Last year in September, Whatsapp announced that they are testing a separate app dedicated to business. After the announcement, Whatsapp successfully tested the app with businesses like BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip in India. Today the Facebook-owned company has officially launched the WhatsApp Business standalone app. It will allow making business communication with customers more streamlined for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) on the popular messaging platform.
In other words, WhatsApp Business App enables small businesses to have a business presence on WhatsApp, communicate more efficiently with your customers, and help grows their business, separating customer and personal messages, and creating an official presence.
WhatsApp Business App Features:
WhatsApp Business App has all the features from original WhatsApp messenger. In addition, it also has additional features such as Automated Messages. It also lets you set an away message when you are unable to answer. With the help of away messages, customers will know that you’re busy. You can also create a greeting message to introduce your customers to your business. The app will also help customers with useful information such as a business description, email or store addresses, and website.
WhatsApp said in a statement:
“People will know that they’re talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account. Over time, some businesses will have Confirmed Accounts once it confirms that the account phone number matches the business phone number.”
“People will continue to have full control over the messages they receive, with the ability to block any number, including businesses, as well as report spam.”
WhatsApp Business App Availability:
WhatsApp Business is now available on Google Play in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S. According to Google Play data, it is also one of the top free apps in Indonesia, Italy, and Mexico. Its been downloaded over 100,000 times.
In addition, WhatsApp Business app will be available to download across the world in the coming weeks including India. As of now, the app is only available for Android devices but eventually, Whatsapp will soon announce this app for iPhones.
