While HMD Global introduced Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 5.1 for the first time in India, Nokia 3.1 received a 3GB RAM variant. This three smartphones, also known as Nokia 2 (2018), Nokia 3 (2018), and Nokia 5 (2018). In addition, they are the successor to previously launched Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. Nokia 2.1 is the new entry-level Android device from HMD Global. It comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Nokia 2.1 is powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC and backed by a massive 4000mAh battery. It boasts only 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). It runs Android Oreo (Go Edition) out-of-the-box. Notably, it is the second smartphone from the company with the Android Oreo (Go Edition).
In terms of cameras, it features a single 8MP rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash. on the front, it got a 5MP fixed focus selfie camera. Interestingly, There are two front face speakers on the top and bottom, which are said to deliver stereo sound effect. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors included: accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
The Nokia 3.1 features a 5.2-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It comes with the MediaTek 6750 Octa-core chipset and packs a 2990mAh battery. The new variant comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). Nokia 3.1 runs Android 8.0 Oreo and it is an Android One device.
In the camera department, it sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, and an LED flash. In addition, it got an 8MP fixed focus camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 84.6-degree field-of-view. The connectivity options are similar to the Nokia 2.1. However, on the sensors part, it got accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
The Nokia 5.1 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. In addition, the device also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Furthermore, it features MediaTek MT6755S SoC which is an octa-core CPU. Nokia 5.1 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It boots Android Oreo and packs a 3000mAh.
The Nokia 2.1 comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,999 in India. It will come in three color options: Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver and, Grey/Silver. Nokia 3.1 (3GB+32GB) will come at Rs. 11,999. It will also come in three color options: Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome, and White/Iron. Finally, the Nokia 5.1 will come with a price tag of Rs. 14,499 and it will available in Copper and Tempered Blue variants from its first sale. Hence, the Black color option will available later.
All three smartphones will go on sale from August 12 via Paytm Mall, Nokia’s online store, and will also be available via major offline retailers. There will be also launch offers on all three smartphones. It includes a 10 percent cashback with Paytm recharges and bill payments by scanning the Paytm Mall QR code at retail stores. Additionally, there is also a 5 percent cashback available for ICICI Bank debit/credit card holders on the Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1.
