Xiaomi has many sub-brands and Black Shark is one of them. The company is solely dedicated to making gaming smartphones. Earlier this year, Black Shark launched the Black Shark 2 in China in March. Now, it has finally launched in India. The Black Shark 2 is packed with all the flagship features along with the gaming esthetics into the design, display, and performance. With the heavy games like PUBG, Call of Duty, League of Legends, the need for gaming-centric smartphones became relevant as well. Black Shark is one of the players in that territory. Notably, last year, its first gaming smartphone was released along with a Bluetooth gamepad. Now let’s have quick look at the spec sheet of the Black Shark 2.
It features a 6.39-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 19.5:9 AMOLED display with 108.9% DCI-P3 color gamut with 430nits brightness. In addition, the display comes with HDR support and touch algorithm optimization especially designed for gaming. The dimensions are 163.61×75.01x 8.77mm and weight is 205g
The Black Shark 2 Comes with the Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform (1 x 2.84GHz Kryo 485 + 3 x 2.42GHz Kryo 485 + 4x 1.80GHz Kryo 485) with Adreno 640 GPU. In addition, there is a Liquid Cool 3.0 technology that uses a liquid-cooled plate + liquid-cooled tube. It can effectively cover all the heat-generating components to reduce the CPU’s core temperature by up to 14° C.
Furthermore, Shark 2 comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and RGB logo on the back. It now comes with ‘X-style’ unique antenna design for better signal reception and hidden press sensitive controls for the display.
The device comes with two storage and RAM options- 6GB LPDDR4x RAM+128GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage and 12GB LPDDR4x RAM+256GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage.
In terms of cameras, it packs a 48MP rear camera with 1/2.0″ Samsung GM1 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, and LED flash. In addition, there is a secondary 12MP 1/3.6″ Samsung S5K3M5, a telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 6P lens, and offers 2x lossless zoom. On the front, it has a 20MP camera with 0.9μm pixel size and f/2.0 aperture.
It comes with a 4,000mAh battery along with 27W fast charging. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and USB Type-C. Furthermore, every major sensor including accelerometer, ambient light, and gyroscope are also present as well.
The Black Shark 2 will be available in Shadow Black and Frozen Silver color options. It will go on sale in India starting June 4 through Flipkart. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at Rs. 39,999. Notably, the top-end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option will be available for Rs. 49,999.
