On Tuesday at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Asus finally unveiled its ZenFone 5 Series smartphones. Asus announced ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL), Asus ZenFone 5 (ZE620KL) and Zenfone 5 Lite (ZC600KL). The Zenfone 5Z will be the flagship device for Asus in 2018. The devices offer AI-enabled features, “all-screen” 18:9 displays with a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, and features dual camera setup. In addition, ZeniMoji is also given similar to the Apple’s animoji feature. Now talking about Apple, the new design language of Zenfone 5z and 5 is heavily inspired by Apple iPhone X. Asus is already facing criticism for this controversial iPhone X-like design choice. However, the Asus Zenfone 5 and 5Z is probably the best looking iPhone X clone which runs on Android.

Asus ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL)
Firstly, let’s talk about the Zenfone 5Z which will be the flagship device for Asus this year. It sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass Super IPS display with 500 nits Brightness. while, 19:9 aspect ratio makes it even taller than the 18.5:9 ratio on the Galaxy S-Series, but not as tall as the iPhone X‘s 19.5:9. Asus Zenfone 5Z is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 SoC with enhanced AI capabilities. It comes with various RAM and storage options and It runs on Android Oreo with Asus’s latest ZenUI 5.0 on top. Now let’s quickly move to the Complete Specification to have a deeper look inside.

Now coming to Asus Zenfone 5, this is where it started to be more interesting. The Asus Zenfone 5 specifications are identical to Zenfone 5Z except for the Processor. In this device, Asus Used Snapdragon 636 and it is the only major difference between Asus Zenfone 5 and 5Z. Earlier Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 5 Pro with Snapdragon 636 but with some limitations. In the case Of Zenfone 5, the Snapdragon 636 will work on full potential. SD 636 is an amazing SoC which offers Excellent battery life and performance and it also features AI support. If Asus is smart enough to price it properly then it will be the perfect Midrange device.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z will be available in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colors. The price starts at 479 Euros (US 585.33$ / Rs. 38179 approx.) and will be available from June. Asus Zenfone 5 will come in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colors and will roll out from April. Lastly, Asus Zenfone 5 Lite will come in Midnight Black, Rouge Red, and Moonlight White colors and will be available from March. However, the pricing of Asus Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5 Lite is still unknown. We hope that Asus will bring these devices to India with reasonable price tags otherwise Zenfone 5 Series will meet the same fate as the Zenfone 4 Series.
