It’s been a while since Xiaomi had launched Redmi Note 4 and we are desperately waiting for Redmi Note 5. We have heard rumors earlier about Xiaomi canceling the Redmi Note 5. Despite all the rumors, Here we are seeing a silver lining as we are rounding up the facts. A few days back Xiaomi launched Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China as first 18:9 budget device from the company.
An MIUI forum super moderator claimed that Xiaomi will not release the Note 5 this year. The Redmi 5 Plus will act as the Note 5 and that news came as a shock to everyone. It’s been a long time Since Xiaomi using Snapdragon 625 on their phones and Redmi 5 Plus was no exception. That’s where it struck, Xiaomi can’t keep repeating the same specs because if they then it’ll be a big flop.
Now coming to the latest reports, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will come with Snapdragon 632. Xiaomi is waiting for Qualcomm to announce its latest Snapdragon 632 processor which is a toned down, an underclocked variant of the Snapdragon 636. The Snapdragon 632 features the Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP modem better optimised for dual camera setups. As soon as Qualcomm will announce Snapdragon 632, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 5.
Reports also suggest that the smartphone will be priced higher than the Redmi Note 4. Price expected to be at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 15,700) for the base variant. Redmi Note 5 will hit the market sometime in the Q2 (April, May, June) in 2018. Now coming to the rumored specifications part.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications:
The Redmi Note 5 will sport a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It can run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Redmi Note 5 will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor. The phone will also come in two variants- 3GB RAM/ 32GB and 4GB RAM/ 64GB. On the camera part, the note 5 will sport a dual camera setup on the back and a 5-megapixel front camera.
