Summary: Motorola has finally launched the new Moto Z3 which is the latest flagship from Moto in 2018. The biggest highlight of this device is the new 5G Moto Mod. It comes with a Snapdragon X50 modem and millimeter wave components. Therefore, the Z3 will be the world’s first smartphone with access to Verizon’s 5G network. Main Article: On Thursday, Motorola launched the new Moto Z3 at an event in Chicago. Interestingly, this is the first flagship smartphone of the company in 2018. It is the latest addition to the Moto Z series which is known to have stock Android and Moto Mods support and the New Moto Z3 is no exception. However, the company has limited the Z3 to the United States and it will be exclusive to telecom operator Verizon in the country. Verizon is planning to launch 5G services in 2019 across four cities in the US. Therefore, Motorola partnered with Qualcomm to launch a 5G Moto Mod to enable the Z3 as a 5G upgradable device. The 5G Moto Mod comes with a Snapdragon X50 modem and millimeter wave components. Therefore, the Moto Z3 will be able to offer 5G access on Verizon network.

The Moto Z3 features a 6.01-inch Full HD+ 18:9 Super AMOLED display and it has Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back. It also comes with a water-repellent P2i which will protect it from spills and splashes. The body of the Z3 boasts 6000 series polished aluminum frame which made the device pretty lightweight. In addition, Z3 has One Button Nav that will allow users to swipe left to go back, right to access recent apps, and tap to go home.

The phone also comes with traditional Moto Display and Moto Actions. Most notably, It comes with a side-facing fingerprint sensor which embedded right below the volume up down buttons. Underneath the device, it packs the Snapdragon 835 which is pretty disappointing as a flagship to have in 2018. It is backed up by 3000mah battery which supports Turbo charging. The Z3 sports 12MP dual rear cameras with depth-sensing and comes with AI photo features, including Cinema graphs and support for Google Lens.

Moto Z3 Price and Availability

The Moto Z3 will be available in Ceramic Black color. It will be available in the US for purchase from August 16. Motorola priced the new Z3 at $480 (approx. Rs. 33,000). Customers in the US will also be able to get a carrier-locked version. That version of the Z3 will be available at a monthly charge of $20 for 24 months. The 5G Moto Mod will be available in the US exclusively in early 2019. However, the pricing is unknown but it will make the Z3 world’s first smartphone with access to Verizon’s 5G.
