Upgrade to MIUI 10 Beta ROM without Unlocking Bootloader

MIUI 10 is the latest version of Xiaomi’s Custom UI and the company announced it earlier this year. As of now, MIUI 10 is on beta stage. The company plans to release the stable update after testing it completely.

Xiaomi devices come with MIUI Global Stable ROM pre-installed. Therefore, If users want to switch to beta ROM they need to flash MIUI Global Beta ROM using fastboot method. In order to do that, they need to unlock the bootloader of their devices. Hence, the whole procedure becomes complicated for some users.

However, the MIUI users are very excited to try the MIUI 10 features before the Stable ROM release. MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM Announcement 

Recently, a new MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM update released and a Mi Community admin posted an announcement thread. The thread says now users can switch to MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM from MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM without unlocking the bootloader.

The eligible devices are- Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Y1, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Users of this devices can now download latest Global Beta ROM from here and flash using Updater method. However, other Xiaomi devices will have to follow the same fastboot method.

Furthermore, Xiaomi has recently started rolling out MIUI 9.6 update for its devices. Hence, we are expecting that the MIUI 10 Stable version will be released within a couple of months.
