Redmi is almost at the verge of completing the 7 series and it will be completed by launching the Redmi 7A. So the 7A will be the direct successor of the Redmi 6A. Earlier, the Redmi 7A was spotted on Chinese regulator TENAA’s website. However, now, the company officially unveiled the 7A today in China. As expected, it is a new budget smartphone from Xiaomi with entry-level specifications. Notably, it will be the first time that Xiaomi will be using a Snapdragon 430 Series processor on their ‘A’ series’ device. So without wasting time, let’s head over to the specifications.
Redmi 7A Specifications
This entry-level device comes with a 5.45-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 2.5D curved glass display. It has a polycarbonate back and comes with splash resistant P2i coating. The dimensions are 146.30×70.41×9.55mm and weight is 150g.
The Redmi 7A will now come with Snapdragon 439 octa-core (Quad 1.95GHz Cortex A53 + Quad 1.45GHz Cortex A53) SoC coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. 7A will also come in two RAM and storage options- 2GB RAM+16GB and 3GB RAM+32GB. It is further expandable up to 256GB with a dedicated microSD slot.
The 7A runs Android 9 Pie on MIUI 10 on top but this time Xiaomi included something new in the software as well. Now, it has a Family Guardian app with SOS Emergency Help option which also limits kids to access certain websites and restrict the use. In addition, location reminder that will notify the area such as school, one-click guard and more. It also features a minimalist mode for elders with large icons, and simplified MIUI features such as magnification, 20% more call volume.
On the camera section, it has a single 13MP rear camera with LED flash and PDAF and on the front, it got a 5MP selfie shooter. All this is backed by a 4000mah battery and a 10W usual charger.
Connectivity options include- Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, Wireless FM Radio, and a Micro-USB port.
Redmi 7A Price and Availability
The Redmi 7A will be available in two colors- Black and Blue. The pricing and availability of the device are still unknown. However, it will be announced along with the launch of Redmi K20 on May 28th.
