Sony launched Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus In India

Sony Mobile India on Friday launched Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus. These two new Sony devices are targeting the mid-range smartphones segments.

The company is promoting the handsets to support fast upload and browsing via uplink data compression (UDC).

These smartphones are exclusively launched in India. Sony – “designed for Indian lifestyle” and “designed to excite the new Indian”.

The company also promising to give the Android Oreo (8.0) update in near future.

Xperia R1 plus

Xperia R1 Plus Specification:

Xperia R1 Specification:

Same as Xperia R1 Plus except the storage is 16GB and RAM is 2GB.

Price & Availability:

The two device will be available in- Black and Silver colors.

Sony Xperia R1 Plus and Xperia R1 will be available across all Sony Center and major mobile stores across India starting November 10. It will also be available on Amazon and Flipkart.

Xperia R1 Plus and Xperia R1 priced at Rs. 15,990 and Rs. 13,990 respectively.

Sony promises, “Pre-registered customers will be entitled to a special offer.”

Cons:

  • Sony is still stuck with the orthodox design.
  • The device is overpriced considering the spec sheet.
  • Only 720p display.
  • Thumbs up for using Snapdragon SoC but still, it is only 430.
  • Battery capacity could be more at least 3000mah.
